"MY OPINION"

On this page I will offer "My Opinion" on a variety of subjects. I've been around a long time and have seen many changes in my lifetime.  Most of my opinions are based on what I have learned in life, rather than spur of the moment  emotions. You may or may not agree with my opinion's, But maybe it will provide some food for thought!

Why I'm supporting Barack Obama

You can follow my time line of Opinions from my original opinion
of why I'm supporting Obama up to my current opinion.

Scroll to the bottom and start up...

September 8, 2008. I got an email from a hunter friend of mine in Pennsylvania... He Said," You gotta love a woman that can field dress a MOOSE". Red Necks dream girl ! Guess that about say's it all !!

September 5, 2008. Well the Republican Convention is over. I didn't stay up to watch John McSame's speech because I knew what he would say.... More of the same lies. John McSame is the same as George Bush and the Republican Party that gave you what you got and a lot more is coming if he's get elected and that's the way it is...you better wake up. John McSame will not bring change, the Republican Party will not let him. The rich continue to get richer at the expense of you and I and that's the way the Republicans like it.

They talked a lot about how John McCain's surge is winning the war in Iraq... Yea right, Bush declared years ago "Mission Accomplished" and thousands have died or came home disabled since and not much has changed. John McSame will have us there for another 100 years... if he can ! Why? Because Companies are making millions from our Government in Iraq, while our economy continues to suffer because of it.

A lot of people voting this time have never been in a war or even in the Military for that matter, so they don't have a clue. I served my country in the US Air Force and volunteered for Vietnam (Tonsunut Air Base , Saigon), so I have been there. What did we get out of Vietnam? I will tell you what we got, besides 58,000 dead Americans..... I will gave you one example and there are many just like it. We Got "NIKE SNEAKERS" .... That's right, American companies have flocked to Vietnam for cheap wages. They made Nike for a few cents and came back to America and sold them to us dumb Americans for $100 -200 dollars a pair. That's why Nike has so much money to spend on people like Tiger Woods and others.

So you think all Veterans are for McCain? Better guess again.... Click the banner

As a proud Liberal / Middle of the road Democrat...and sometimes conservative Democrat on issues such as gun control... I can tell you .. we proudly support the Military and defending this country, But Bush lied to us about why we were going to war and Bin Laden is still loose! The Republicans continue to lie about why we need to stay in Iraq. "WAKE UP AMERICA"  This may be your last chance to turn things around  before our children and grandchildren are living like third world peasants... like the working class in Mexico. And  yes.... I have been to Mexico and toured our American Companies that took our jobs. I have been to the General Motors Plant and seen  the Fisher Price toy plant  and Trico Windshield Wiper plant side by side and dozens of other American Companies. I have met the workers that work in those plants and visited their cardboard box and plywood homes built in areas that can only be described as a filthy landfill. So I know what I'm talking about !

You elect John McSame and you have sold out your children and GrandChildrens future !

You better think about that vote, don't be stupid like we have in the last two elections or you can kiss your ass goodbye !!

September 3, 2008. I just finished watching Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican Convention. Here is what I saw. She was a better speaker than I thought she would be, despite her squeaky voice, that I can't stand. Other than beating up on Obama and the Democrats which I think we all knew was going to happen and knowing that the speech was written for her by Bush speech writers... not by her... I think it lacked a lot of substance.

We got introduced to her family, which was ok I guess, but she and John McCain are just repeating Obama's plan for change for this country. They are trying to convince you that they will be the change to help the middle class and working people, but you have to realize that it was the Republican Party that gave you this mess in our country and now they want you to believe that they are the party of change. John McCain voted with George Bush over 90% of the time, by his own admission. I agree with Obama ... I'm not ready to take a chance on a 10% chance for change !

She said nothing that convinced me that she has the experience or Qualifications to be Vice-President and especially President. It's a scary thought  that she thinks being a "Hockey Mom" Qualifies her to be Vice-President !

I say it's time to send her back to being a Hockey Mom where she belongs.

Sarah Palin...
This art work of Sarah Palin is the only good thing
that I can find about Sarah Palin....
John McCain 's latest blunder

I just can't believe who John McCain picked for V.P. John McCain is absolutely BRAIN DEAD ! If I were a Republican I would be running as fast as I could to change my Political Party. He has to be a total embarrassment to the Republicans.

Out of all the choices he had.... God... It shows what kind of judgment this idiot has. There's all kind of speculation why he choose her and now the Republicans are scrambling to make her sound creditable. I think he has insulted every woman out there, but I'm sure there will be some dumb people who will like the choice.  This nobody .. with no experience, would be a heartbeat away from being President ... a scary thought, considering John McCain's age and past health.

I'm finding it amusing watching the Republicans define her experience and creditability. One Republican spokesperson said she has Foreign diplomatic experience because Alaska is next to Russia. Another one said she's Qualified on foreign matters concerning Iraq because her son is being deployed there in Sept.  Not only that, but did you hear her voice? She sounds like someone who should be doing voiceovers for cartoon's! I just can't stand to listen to her speak... Damn!
This is really sad.... I don't have much use for the Republican Party, but to see them make an ass out of themselves, Well.... it just warms my heart...Ha Ha Ha ! Thought I was going to say something else ..HUH!

Well... If Obama's speech at the Democratic Convention and this stupid choice by John McSame doesn't convince you to vote for Obama, then I can only wish that you have to relive the last 8 years , over and over again for the rest of your life..... cause you aren't smart enough to deserve any better.... !

This info below was posted as a bulletin on myspace by Pop's

I thought it was good information and I have seen it other places also..

She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.

1 Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.

2 She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.

3 Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.

4 She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.

5 She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.

6 How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

7 This is information the American people need to see. Please take a moment to forward this email to your friends and family.

We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking.
Here's a sample:

She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M.
, Fairbanks, AK

She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B.
, Denali Park, AK

As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L.
, Anchorage, AK

Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C.
, Anchorage, AK

She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L.
, Juneau, AK

I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting "A Woman" in that position.—Jennifer M.
, Anchorage, AK

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.

In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.

In the next few days, many Americans will be wondering what McCain's vice-presidential choice means. Please pass this information along to your friends and family.

Thanks for all you do.

August 19, 2008 -  I guess I'm like most people... Been paying attention to the candidates and I get a little concerned when Obama started flip flopping on some issues, but they all do it... trying to appeal to everyone. Now I've been involved in politics for about 25 years. Was an member of a South Central Pennsylvania Political Action Committee. Went to Washington D.C. every year, met many, many politicians , stumped around Capital Hill  and just about seen it all. So I've got some experience in that area. There's one thing I can tell ya.... Don't listen to all the bullshit... Just look at their voting records... That's what counts and that's the way they will be in the future.

Most people don't do that and that's why we got the "Dick Heads" in charge now. I can tell you this.... John McCain is another George Bush and that's just the way it is. He wins..... and we got more of the same.... and it's down hill on a roller coaster!

I don't know if Obama is the answer... I guess it depends on the Congress that we give him if he gets elected. We better do something different  cause we are just about to become a third world nation.

It's really scary why people vote the way they do.... With all the facts that were out there on George Bush the last time I would have bet that he couldn't get re-elected... BUT HE DID.... And the Republicans haven't changed the way they run campaigns. Still lies and bullshit... haven't we had enough of that stuff.

I hope the American people have finally woke up, cause once again we have two choices.... and one of them ain't pretty. Help elect Obama and get  them assholes out of Washington !!

March 20, 2008 My additional Opinion.....

If you haven't already watched the Obama speech (Barack Obama: 'A More Perfect Union' (Full Speech)  you can find it on my home page. It's 37 minutes long , but worth watching. If there was ever a man who understands the problems we have in America and has a vision on what we can do about it, it's this man. I haven't seen or heard anyone like this in such a long time in the political process, that I gave up hope that there was such a person. God help us all if we don't give this man a chance to help solve the monumental problems that face this country.

First... Let me say that there are some givens , some things that have not changed over the years with the political parties. The Republicans have always been and still are... the party of the rich. They favor tax breaks for the wealthy, believe in free market enterprise, which allows big business to do whatever they want to make huge profits (Including moving their manufacturing overseas). They believe in less government... not for you and me... but for business.. Less taxes, less health and safety laws in the work place, less work place inspections and the list goes on and on. They have been successful in convincing the average Joe that they somehow are part of the rich class... things such as 401K's that replace pensions and they have been successful at getting people side tracked on issues that aren't the important issues, but are highly emotional issues , such as tax and spend Democrats and gun control. Before I go on, let me say although I've been a lifelong Democrat , I am totally against gun control, as many democrats are. "If we outlaw guns... only outlaws will have guns"!

You can now see the results of these actions. Food that we have to be concerned about eating. Good paying jobs that are now gone. People that can't pay their bills or their mortgages . An economy  that is going down hill fast.   It's my belief, that this all started with Ronald Reagan, why do you think the Republicans love him so much ?

Let me also say that I was totally shocked that the American people were dumb enough to vote for George Bush the second time around. But that's water over the dam, and I hope some of the people have somehow gotten smarter.

Working people have always faired better and our economy has been more stable  when Democrats are in power, but even so... the issues that I mentioned above have continued on.... to create the mess that we now have .... even when the Democrats were in power.. The Clintons were part of the problem and I believe that putting Hillary or the Republican in office would be more of the same.

Barack Obama offers something different.... will he be able to make changes?? Only time will tell, But with all the other candidates... we know what to expect... more of the same. Obama has proven that he can appeal to people of all walks of life, all ages and political views. If we don't do something different we are going to become a third world nation and we aren't far from that now. We no longer rank near the top in the world in many areas, wages, working conditions, health care and list goes on and on!

Obama is the first person since JFK that has stirred such excitement over politics in this country and we need to give him a chance to prove himself.
I think this video shows that he has it down pat what's some of the problem with Washington....

"People don't say what they mean"

How in the world could he be any worse then the moron that's in the white house now ??
